bahiyat is an Arabic-first media platform about women’s leadership and entrepreneurship across the Middle East and North Africa, run by Impactedia as one of its media brands. This page explains how we choose stories, where our information comes from, how we tell women’s stories, and how we correct mistakes.
What we publish
- Journeys: women leaders, entrepreneurs and impact makers from the region, based on public records and what they publish about themselves.
- Organizations: initiatives and programs that support women, based on their own reports and official records.
- Tools: reviews of apps and software for work and career growth.
- Guides: practical explanations of employment, entrepreneurship and career growth.
- Insights: our reading of data and reports on women in the region’s economy.
- News: appointments, achievements and funding announcements, written from the announcement itself.
- Opportunities: grants, programs, fellowships and jobs, written from the organizer’s or employer’s official call.
How we source
Every figure, date and factual claim in an article links to where it comes from. We prefer primary sources, in this order:
- The company’s or organization’s own documents: official announcements, annual reports, program and job pages.
- Institutional sources: government bodies and official authorities, and reports from international institutions and research bodies, cited by name and publication date.
- Public registries and databases, when the organization publishes nothing itself.
We take facts from the organizations involved, not from other media outlets’ coverage. When two credible sources give different figures, we show both and explain the difference rather than picking one. We do not publish statistics, quotes, awards or rankings we cannot trace to a source.
Sisterhood over competition
We put women at the center of the story. We let women tell their stories in their own words, back inspiration with facts, and pair each story with something practical: a guide, a tool or an opportunity. We do not set women against each other, or against a single picture of success. Figures and achievements are attributed to their source, with a link to it.
Arabic and English
We publish in Arabic first and in English as well. Both editions follow the same sourcing, correction and update rules set out on this page.
Tools, affiliate links and sponsored content
Some links in our Tools section are affiliate links, and bahiyat may earn a commission when a reader signs up through them. Sponsored or partner content is labeled as such so it can be told apart from our own reporting.
No financial, legal or career advice
bahiyat is not a financial or legal adviser, and it is not an employer. Our articles give readers the facts they need to understand a company, a program or a job market. They do not tell anyone where to invest or what to apply for. For a decision about your career, your business or your money, speak to a qualified adviser. Our Disclaimer sets this out in full.
Updates
We review profiles and guides when the facts they rely on change, for example a new position, a funding round or a new labor law, and update the article and its sources.
Corrections
If you find an error, tell us through our contact page and include a link to the source that shows the correct information. We check every report. When a correction changes a fact, figure or name, we fix the article and update its date.
Story tips and submissions
You can suggest a story, an initiative or an opportunity through the contact page. Please include a link to the original source. We verify it before anything is published. You can read more about who we are on our About page.
