Who can apply
Doria supports feminist activists and movement builders across the MENA region. Its own criteria are short and clear:
- The applicant must be a collective or group. Individuals cannot apply.
- The group must be led by women.
- Groups based in, or working across, the MENA region can apply.
- New groups and groups that have never been funded are welcome, and so are established organizations launching a new initiative.
- Registration is not required. Registered and unregistered groups are both eligible.
- A bank account is not required. Doria works case by case to transfer funds safely.
For 2026 the fund especially encourages proposals on women’s health, economic empowerment, climate justice and ending gender-based violence.
What you get
Doria describes its support as flexible funding and long-term backing so communities can grow their work, share knowledge and shape their own futures. Its grantmaking includes core grants, project grants and knowledge production grants. The fund has not published grant amounts for the 2026 call on the pages we could access, so check the application platform for the figures before you plan a budget.

Advice from the bahiyat team
- Apply as a group. The fund funds collectives. If you work alone today, this is the moment to name the women you build with and apply together.
- Match a priority area. Health, economic empowerment, climate justice and ending gender-based violence are the 2026 focus. Say clearly where your work sits.
- Pick the right grant type. Decide whether you need steady core support, money for a defined project, or funds to document and share what you know, then apply for that one.
- Use your own language. Arabic is accepted in full, so write in the language you think in.
- Start early. The platform is where the real form lives. Open it well before the last week so a technical problem does not cost you the deadline.
